The best prepress tool in the set. True-shape, marks, bleed, queues, CalderaRIP or Onyx. It wins the second board. On the shop board it loses on the invoice and on time-to-production.

Take RolCut when
The RIP already stands. The operator nests every week. You want print.pdf + cut.pdf + cut.dxf the same day. You will not pay €2,495/year for a nest you could run in a browser. The shop board exists for this sentence.
Take PrimeCenter when

Questions
Does RolCut replace CalderaRIP?
No. It replaces nest and cut-file prep. On CMYK it can emit a named press ICC (FOGRA51 by default). Head rasterising and the machine profile stay in the RIP.
Can PrimeCenter feed Onyx?
Yes. Caldera sells it as prep for any RIP, including Onyx.
